I always thought we would take my daughter to Disney for the first time for her 5th birthday. This would guarantee she would remember the experience and it would be worth the money, right? However, my parents ended up taking her to Disney World at 23 months. So was visiting Disney World with a toddler worth it? Well, my daughter had the time of her life and would not stop talking about the experience for weeks. We wanted to see this joy for ourselves so we planned a weekend trip to Orlando when our girls were 1 and 2. Here are 5 reasons to visit Disney World with toddlers:
Disney World with Toddlers: They’re Free if They’re Under 3
Disney grants children under 3 free admission and with child prices for ages 3-9 ranging from $99-$114 for one day’s admission that is a huge saving. We will definitely squeeze in one more free trip the weekend before her 3rd Birthday!
There Are So Many Rides to Experience at Disney World with Toddlers
There are 33 attractions in Magic Kingdom alone that patrons of any height and any age can enjoy so there is plenty to do. This means if you have a younger child like us you don’t have to miss out on the fun. Kennedy and I went on every ride James and Jordyn did except the Speedway one and we only had to wait 20mins for them. Besides the rides Disney offers special events that kids of all ages can enjoy. My daughters especially love going for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Disney World with Toddlers Doesn’t Limit Your Experience Thanks to RiderSwitch
If you do want to go on some of the more thrilling rides like Splash Mountain that have height restrictions that your toddler doesn’t meet they have a RiderSwitch program that allows one parent to watch the kids while the other goes on a ride and then swap and the other parent watch the kids while you enjoy without having to wait on the long line. They are at the age when they still believe the characters walking around the park are real. They don’t know that there are just adults under those costumes and they really enjoy the Disney Magic. Getting to meet all of their favorite Disney Jr. characters made them so excited.
Disney World with Toddlers Lets You See Disney in a New Light
Both my daughters who were 10 months and 2 years old during our first visit were so entranced by everything. They saw and pointed out every little detail we would typically miss as adults.
