Since IG hates on photos gotta get them in how I c Since IG hates on photos gotta get them in how I can! Honestly sunset in the lavender fields is everything, probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever witnessed. I don’t have much information to give today I really just wanted to share these photos 😬.

Check out my last 3 reels with @oneikatraveller for information on experiencing lavender season in Provence, France. These photos are from a lavender field in Valensole.

P.S. the skirt is from Amazon and they have multiple colors!

Everything you need to know about visiting the Lav Everything you need to know about visiting the Lavender fields in Provence, France (save + share this post):

Lavender season varies each year but falls between June and August.

Provence is the region but there are various cities with fields. Valensole is the most popular and where the fields we visited were located but there are also fields in Sault, Manosque and Luberon. The time frame that the lavender blooms is different in each city. Our visit was July 3-5th but the bloom and harvest time could change next year.

The best airport to fly into is Marseille. Airlines that fly to Marseille from the US are Air France, British Airways, Swiss, Royal Air Maroc, Iberia, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa and TAP Portugal. If you’re already in Europe you can also fly Pegasus, Ryanair, Tunisair, Aeroflot, Ethiopian, Easyjet, Vueling, Eurowings and Air Algerie.

If you’re visiting from Paris you can take the train to Marseille!

From Marsielle you will need to take the train or bus to Valensole or Manosque as your home base. As you’ll 100% need a car to get around to all the Lavender fields you can also rent a car from Marseille and drive as finding a rental car in the smaller towns is more difficult.

What questions do you have about the lavender fields or Provence?

My top 5 favorite international destinations I’v My top 5 favorite international destinations I’ve visited!

1. Botswana- I did an exchange program here where I lived with a family in the village of Oodi right outside Gaborone one summer in high school. It completely changed the way I view travel. Besides getting to learn so much of the countries culture from my host family to learning a bit of Setswana to camping in the Okavango Delta it will always be one of my favorite trips.

2. Turkey- from the people to the food to the landscape to the sea it was everything. I visited Istanbul, Cappadocia, Antalya and Izmir and the country has so much to offer with varying landscapes.

3. Rio de Janeiro- We loved our family trip to Brazil, the food, the people, the vibrance of Rio was everything. So many beautiful hikes, learning how to dance Samba, learning how to make Moqueca, going to a futbol match in Maracana Stadium, wow the energy!! Oh and the nightlife was 🔥. Can’t wait to return and explore more of the country.

4. Kenya- This country has so much to offer. We visited Amboseli National Park, got to do a walking safari amongst zebras and giraffes in Lake Naivasha and even ran into a hippo 😅. We visited a Maasai Tribe who gave us such a warm welcome inviting us into their homes, teaching the girls how to make fire from scratch and we even say 5 cheetah take down a topi, seeing a live kill was insane! Ended the trip relaxing on Diani Beach swimming in the stunning Indian Ocean.

5. Madeira, Portugal- the landscape on this island is insane. Exploring I often felt like I was in 20 different places, like how is all in one island? Loved the hikes here, being above the clouds, seeing all the waterfalls, spotting dolphins in the ocean, and the food was so good! I also enjoyed Lisbon but Madeira was everything!

What have been your favorite international trips? What country is highest on your bucket list (doesn’t have to be from my list)?

Should I make a list for my favorite US destinations (they’ll probably surprise you).

Answering the most asked question on my vacuum sea Answering the most asked question on my vacuum sealed carry-on only reel (save + share this post). This is how my clothes look once I take them out of the bag. Do you think these are really wrinkled? They were vacuum sealed for roughly 22 hours.

If you’re going to visit more than one city the best way to pack these is to pack each bag per city. Then all your clothes for that one city are all together and you only have to open one bag at a time. Then reseal that one bag with all your dirty clothes before going to the next city and don’t worry about the other ones getting dirty or smelling! You can label each bag with a sticky note or tape with a marker to know what bag has what clothes.

The link to purchase the bags and hand pump is my bio.

We had the pleasure of experiencing Island H2O Live waterpark during it’s grand opening as members of the media. Island H2O Live is located at the new Margaritaville Resort Orlando. Whether you’re looking for things to do in Orlando besides themes parks or looking for activities near Disney World it’s the perfect option. Here’s everything you need to plan your own adventure and enjoy Island H2O Live!

Things to Do at Island H2O Live

There are over 20 attractions to enjoy at Island H2O Live. Some of them have height requirements but the park is great for kids of all ages. One important thing to note is that no one can wear water shoes going down any slides. I’d never been to a waterpark with these rules so thought it was important to note. There are cubbies at the start of the line to each ride you can leave your water shoes if you choose to wear them around the park. Here’s a look into what Island H2O Live offers.

Island H2O Live Attractions for Anyone

Regardless of your age or height everyone can enjoy Chat Creek, Island H2O Live’s lazy river. Live! Lagoon is the water parks wave pool which gets wavy in timed intervals.

The Level Up area is a pool for all ages which also has four basketball hoops and a lily pad obstacle course. There is no height requirement here but the pool is 3’6” deep. Island H2O Live does provide life jackets for guests who can’t swim.

Considering other Florida Destinations?: Here are our itineraries for Panama City Beach, Tampa, Fort Myers, and Key West

Island H2O Live Attractions for People 36” and Up

Pelican Cove might be geared towards kids but I definitely had a blast running around with my 5 year old. Kids of all ages can run around this area but the water slides have a height requirement of 36” or 40”. Parents cannot go down the slide with kids so sorry if you’re kids are shorter they still can’t go with you. Not to worry, shorter kids will still enjoy running around the water filled playground.

Island H2O Live Attractions for Those 42” and Up

If you have shorter kids who still want some thrills there are a few thrilling water slides they can enjoy. Two are group slides, Hashtag Heights and Profile Plunge. Both of these slides allow 3-6 people in each one, if you have less than 3 people in your group you will have others join you. Have your camera ready smile down pact as you twist, turn, and drop as the slide takes your picture for you! The other thrilling slide kids 42” and up can enjoy is the Reply Racers. On this ride you race 6 other people as you plunge face first down this two drop slide. You’ll know who the winner is as the slide times each of you and you can see who won at the end.

Island H2O Live Attractions for People 48” and Up

For everyone at least 48” you can enjoy every attraction at the water park including five waterslides that shorter guests cannot. Three of these slides, Reload Rapids, Follow me Falls, and The Downloader are two seaters and if you’re solo you will need to find another single rider to go with you. The other two 48” and up slides are the Drop Down which is a steep vertical drop and Live Streaming which has a 360 loop. The two Live Streaming slides also record your entire ride which you can instantly share with your social media audience.

Adults Only Section at Island H2O Live

If you need a break from the kids you can enjoy the adults only section at Island H2O Live. Private Domain is a 21+ private pool area with lounge chairs. This is also where you’ll find the bar, Tag Shack.

Where to Eat at Island H2O Live

There are three areas to eat at Island H2O Live. The main concession stand, near the entrance is called Megabytes. By the wave pool you’ll find Apps & Eats which has smaller bites. If you’ve rented a cabana you can order off the menu and a waiter will bring everything to you.

Unique Things About Island H2O Live

Island H2O Live is a technology filled waterpark and has some pretty unique and advance features. To take advantage of these features you’ll want to download the free H2O Live app. The app allows you to plan your day, see wait times, find your family or friends throughout the park and earn points for free merchandise, food and drinks throughout the park.

Make My Day Island H2O Live has water slides where you can actually choose the color of the lights and music that plays while you’re going down. Of course my daughter was thrilled they had Kidz Bop as an option! Don’t worry they also have plenty of adult choices but I admittedly like Kidz Bop. This section of the app also lets you see wait times for the rides.

Family & Friends As a parent, this is my favorite aspect of the technology add at Island H2O Live. You can link your wristband with everyone is your party so you can see exactly where your kids are in the park. No more walking around aimlessly trying to find them! If you don’t want them going to a certain area of the waterpark without you, you can also set parental controls where you will get a notification if they’re not listening.

Park Perks Every time you go down a slide at Island H2O Live you earn points as long as you scan your wristband. Earn enough points and you can get free merchandise, food, and drinks. Of course my daughter became the scanning queen when I told her she could earn free ice cream!

Island H2O Live Admission and Hours

As of now the Island H2O Live schedule has it open through December 31st. From now until September 1st it will be open daily from 9AM-7PM. However starting September 2nd Island H2O Live will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays and hours will reduce to 10AM-5PM.

While Island H2O Live is located onsite the Margaritaville Resort it’s not included in the hotel price if you choose to stay there. Buying your ticket online will get you a $5 discount per person with single day passes costing $44.99 + tax or $37.99 + tax for guests under 48”. If you’re military or a senior (62+) you can buy your ticket at the gate for a discount with ID. The waterpark also offers an annual pass for $89.99 + tax if you travel to Orlando frequently or live in the area. You can buy your tickets here.

My daughter and I had a great time at Island H2O Live and will definitely be back the next time we visit Orlando. Here are some other things to do in Orlando. Did you find this article helpful? Please share it.
