What do you do when your 80 year old grandma that lives in Jamaica comes to visit you in Florida and only has one wish? You grant it! Now, what did my grandmother want? To go to Disney World once in her life! I gathered up 12 other members of my family including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and we were off for the weekend. But where would 14 people stay where that wouldn’t cost a fortune and we could all hang out together and cook meals? In a Vacasa vacation rental!
To celebrate my grandmother we had a feast our first night in Orlando, utilizing the gorgeous kitchen in our Vacasa vacation rental. Not only did this save us a ton of money versus going out to eat at a restaurant it allowed us a more intimate setting to really enjoy our family time. We were able to be as loud as we wanted without disturbing others and without the background noise of a packed restaurant.
When we were done eating the kids (and some kids at heart) were able to compete against each other in air hockey and foosball in the game room. Every corner of the house was well thought out for families.
When it was time to go to bed we had plenty of space to spread out with our Vacasa vacation rental’s six bedrooms and six bathrooms. The three little one’s we had LOVED their Disney themed rooms, one Mickey Mouse, one Nemo with two twin beds in each. Of course, now they want us to redecorate their rooms at home, sorry kids, not happening!

We especially loved that there were two family room areas, one downstairs and one upstairs. This allowed for the older adults to be downstairs and talk while the younger adults were upstairs having a movie night.
The next day we headed to Disney World during their Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Depending on who you were we watched our mom, grandma, and great grandmother respectively have the time of her life. She said it was the best gift she’s ever gotten and that made it all worth it.

After a long day at the park relaxing was the only thing on everyone’s mind. Our private jacuzzi and heated pool was the perfect place to do this. Our Vacasa vacation rental’s pool was screened in, which is a must in Florida so we didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes. The pool is also lit so there were no issues with night swimming.
Getting 14 people up, ready and out by 11AM after a day at Disney is a struggle. We were so thankful for the option to extend our checkout to 7pm for just $34. We had a relaxing morning swimming in the pool and watching the kids jump in and out. This also gave us time to wash our clothes before making the drive back to Miami. We had one small issue in one of the bathrooms during our stay. However due to Vacasa having local staff attending to the rentals 24/7 the property manager came to fix the issue within 20 minutes of me contacting him. This was the first time my family has ever rented a vacation home for a special occasion and we all left saying how we need to do this once a year.
