Staying Fit While Traveling: How I Use Gixo Fitness App for Travel Workouts

January 2, 2019      Lifestyle

Thank you to Gixo for sponsoring this post and allowing me to share how I stay fit while traveling!

I love to work out but have always found myself slacking off on vacation. My excuse was always that staying fit while traveling was too difficult. What if our hotel doesn’t have a gym? What about when we stay at Vrbos or Airbnbs? Basically I made a lot of excuses. Then I discovered Gixo, an app that provides a solution for travel workouts. The above picture is me working out in my hotel room in Portland, Jamaica.

What is Gixo

Gixo is a fitness app that allows you to workout on the go so you can stay fit while traveling. They offer scheduled classes with live coaches! I do know flexibility is key, especially when trying to fit workouts in before or after excursions so I love that Gixo also has on-demand classes that you can take anytime.  The only difference is your class will be a recording instead of having your coach live.

What Types of Workouts Does Gixo Offer?

No matter what your fitness style Gixo offers something for you. There are twelve types of workouts offered. These include strength, HITT, yoga, stretching, bootcamps and more.

What I hate most about working out on my own is that I never know if I am doing the movements correctly. Ok, maybe it’s also that I never work out as long as I said I would, aka I quit early, because I don’t have anyone to keep me accountable.

That’s not the case with Gixo. The live scheduled classes keep you accountable and give you feedback during your work out.  You just have your camera on and the coach can see the entire class and tell you when your doing a great job or motivate you to give a little extra push. Don’t worry your classmates can’t see you which also helps you feel more comfortable if your not ready for other people to see you work out.

How Gixo Makes it Easy to Make Time to Workout on Vacation

Gixo makes it hard for you to make excuses on not having time to work out on vacation. They offer classes as short as 15 minutes and if you can’t spare 15 minutes you might just have too many things on your itinerary.  With Gixo you never have to worry about finding a gym, not knowing the area so not feeling comfortable going out for a run or feeling like you don’t want to waste precious vacation time working out.

What are you waiting for, keep your New Year Resolution of staying fit even on vacation. Download the Gixo fitness app now and get a 7 day free trial!

Thank you. This was a great post. I tend to say stuff like well I’m on vacay. Why do I have to workout. But yes it’s still very good to workout event on vacay! Great encouraging post.

Hi! We’re The Hambricks

If kids live there, kids can visit! That's our motto and you'll often find us exploring destinations most don't find "kid friendly". We've traveled to 35 countries on 6 continents with our children since they were 10 weeks old and share tips to make it easier and affordable. But mom and dad are people too so we also write about solo travel, baecations and girlfriend getaways.
